Description
First created in the Great War by the Apiostatic Empire, the Machine Pistol was created very similarly to the Burst Fire Rifle, in that it first worked on a clockwork firing rotation. At the time, the design was revolutionary, but tended to perform very poorly. It featured the exact same issue of relying on the ticking clock within, which ticked every second, leading to a slow firing rate, of around 1 second per bullet. This would also lead to issues of the clock running out of battery, mud caking the gears, or water completely rusting the inner workings. This lead to the gun being reserved primarily for the lower ranking officers of the Apiostatic military, as higher ups much rather would have a handy revolver, and the average solder would rather keep a stock pistol.
Nowadays of course, the Machine Pistol and Burst Fire Rifle alike both run on an intricate and durable timer precision rotation, causing them to fire at a much faster rate, more akin to automatic rifles that we see today. You'll still find them all around the globe, especially popularized in Nova Rheon for their old yet newly effective designs. Typically, they will be found in shades of brown, or still manufactured using wood, but some newer models use steel for the frame. They have a thin handle, ovular cylindrical base, a thin yet sturdy barrel, and a magazine just barely shorter than the handle.
